Welcome to the College of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign!
Here you will find information for prospective graduate and undergraduate students about the College's
three academic units and our service unit—Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services.
The College has had a remarkable record of achievement. Over the last five years, every aspect of what
we do, research, instruction, and public outreach, has gained significantly in strength.
College Record
- All of the departments are nationally ranked as among the top ten programs in their fields of study
with the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services being ranked as #1 in the nation.
- Research is focused on improving health and well-being with college-wide research initiatives in
the areas of aging and disability.
- Within the last three years, two of our faculty have received the Campus Award for Excellence in
Undergraduate Teaching.
- Of the courses we offer, 84% received the highest student course ratings.
- Several of our outreach programs have been recognized as model programs in the state and nation.
- Research funding has grown to a level that is more than 60% higher than the campus average per faculty FTE.
- Many of our faculty members have been chosen to receive the highest honors accorded in their fields.
- Behind the scenes the dedicated staffs of the departments and the Dean’s Office work very hard in
support of all that we do.
We continue to expand, both in numbers and in the range of scholarship, instruction, and service that we are
providing. We have an exciting future ahead of us, addressing some of society’s most pressing needs and
concerns in a richly collaborative environment in the college and across this nationally and internationally
