Faculty Research
Research is focused on improving health and well-being across the lifespan with
college-wide research initiatives in the areas of aging and disability. Many faculty
members have been chosen to receive the highest honors accorded in their fields.
An indication of significant faculty research activity is the high percentage of
AHS faculty serving as Principal Investigators. Additionally, many research projects
have been featured in the media and on the web.
Departments
- Department of Kinesiology and Community Health focuses on all
aspects of health, rehabilitation, and human movement across the lifespan.
KCH Research
- Department of Recreation, Sport and Tourism research topics
include psychology, sociology; marketing, economics; geography, rehabilitation;
communication, leisure behavior; health and wellness, and natural resources.
RST Research and Extension
- Department of Speech and Hearing Science faculty specialize
in the study of receptive and productive aspects of oral and alternative
communication and communication disorders. Research laboratories and clinics
are dedicated to improving all aspects of interpersonal communication.
