What is health technology?
Health Technology is a broad term for all consumer-facing technologies intended to support individuals in maintaining or improving their health and independence.

What is the advantage of earning an MS in Health Technology?
There is a shortage of qualified specialists/professionals with the breadth of skills required to create these systems.  The MS in Health Technology combines human factors, fundamental engineering principles, and a Capstone Project to enable our graduates to contribute to multidisciplinary teams aiming to create useful health technology.

Are there concentrations within the MS in Health Technology?
No.  Students will select electives (12 credit hours) that will differentiate them from others and tailor their degree program.

Can I start the MS HT program in the Spring or Summer semester?
No.  We only offer a full-time program that begins in the Fall semester and completes at the end of Summer semester (August-August).

Does MSHT offer an online degree option?
Not at this time. However, during the Capstone Project Implementation, it is anticipated that students will pursue Capstone Projects in a variety of locations including, but not limited to, Champaign-Urbana.  Therefore, HT 512: Capstone Implementation is offered online.

Can I pursue the MSHT part-time?
No.  We only offer a full-time program that begins in the Fall semester and completes at the end of Summer semester (August-August).

What are the minimum GRE score and GPA requirements?
We do not have minimum GRE score for admissions. Admitted students will have a range of scores. We look at each candidate's application and qualifications as a whole. Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

Is there a supplemental application for the MSHT program at Illinois?
No. There is no supplemental or secondary application. Upon being offered admission, international students are required to complete additional forms related to visa requirements.
