Undergraduate Advising

Community health advisors are here to help you with schedules, course selection, registration, tutoring, and career information.

We want to partner with you to ensure that your time in Community Health at Illinois effectively prepares you for your next step, whether that is a career, graduate school, or something else.

All Community Health undergraduate students are required to meet with their advisor at least once per semester. Advisors can assist you with resources, dates and deadlines, and educational and career plans. They are here to help you from the time you enter the University of Illinois until you are set in a career path after graduation. Advisors are available by appointment for telephone or personal conferences and by email.

Scheduling an Appointment

Students who are majors in Community Health must schedule a pre-registration appointment each semester. An email reminder will be sent out around the 8th week of the semester, although you may schedule an appointment after the 10th day of classes. This is highly recommended so you can have your questions answered well before your registration date. Community Health majors can schedule an advising appointment by using the online scheduling portal.

Non-major students can meet with the advisors during weekly drop-in hours. Drop-in and appointment times will be listed on advising office doors, 125 and 126 Huff Hall.

Weekly Advising Office Hours

We try to have a variety of drop-in and appointment times each week to ensure we get all the questions answered. The advisors will post their drop in hours online and on their doors each week (Hollie: 126 Huff and Nancy: 125 Huff). CHLH major students only: To schedule an advising appointment, please go to this link. If you are not a CHLH major, you will need to attend the drop-in hours of the advisor that works with your part of the alphabet.

Due to COVID-19 closing down all campus buildings, drop-in hours are not being held. The best way to reach your academic advisor is via email. Thank you! Stay safe and be well.
