Research Themes
Collaborations in Health, Aging, Research, & Technology, or CHART, is an interdisciplinary research program comprised of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign faculty, community members, and healthcare providers devoted to supporting research efforts that promote aging successfully through the use of technology. The mission of CHART is to enable successful aging through fundamental research advanced technology development, education of researchers, developers, healthcare professionals, and older adults, guidance for policy decision making, and translation of these efforts to positively affect the lives of older adults.

Collaborations in the Advancement of Research on Disability (CARD)
CARD is an interdisciplinary research program in the College of Applied Health Sciences. CARD engages faculty and students, community members, industry partners, and healthcare providers in disability related research and outreach. The mission of CARD is to enhance the health and quality of life of people with disabilities through research that addresses critical gaps in disability-related knowledge and outreach that engages individuals with disabilities. Consistent with the CHAD Mission, CARD will provide leadership in interdisciplinary disability research, outreach, and engagement to support optimal living with disabilities and facilitate collaboration between campus disability researchers and external disability advocacy, service, and research partners.
